One of the earliest shows of 2012, and likely to be the largest in the north of England, is the Military Vehicle Trust’s Jubilee Military Wheels and Wings Show, incorporating Battlegroup North, at the Yorkshire Air Museum, 25-27 May.

The annual Elvington-based event is always well-supported by vehicle owners and re-enactors alike and, of course, has the added dimension of the Yorkshire Air Museum’s collection of aircraft to admire.

This year’s jubilee theme means that organiser Brian Slingsby and his team are hoping to put on a special display of Austin K2 ambulances and Tillys to mark the role of the then Princess Elizabeth in the ATS during WW2. So, if you want to be part of what is hoped will be the largest post-war gathering of such vehicles, get in touch with the Yorkshire boys.

Entry forms are available on the event’s website at www.wheelsandwings.co.uk, or contact Ivor Waterhouse by e-mail at This e-mail address is being protected from spambots. You need JavaScript enabled to view it or by phoning 01937 520622 or 07944 646135.
