EGGS FOR SOLDIERS
Tuesday, 20 March 2012 12:27

Sculptor Stuart Murdoch took 512 hours and used 5016 egg boxes, 26 litres of glue, 10,100 nails, 15 litres of paint, 80 square metres of steel and 5013 staples to make this eggstraordinary (sorry!) replica of a Challenger II.

It was built to celebrate the launch of the Eggs for Soldiers’ national egg and spoon race that took place on 4 March to raise money for Help for Heroes. Fifteen pence from the sale of every khaki-green box of six Eggs for Soldiers goes directly to the charity, which helps wounded servicemen and women returning from conflict.
