THE BEAST LIVES

Posed in the wilds of Norfolk.Back in the July 2011 issue of CMV we told you how Shaun Hindle had discovered and rescued the remains of a Carrier the previous December. It had lain upside down in a hedge for some 60 years, according to the farmer on whose land it was. Shaun set himself the target of getting the Carrier running within a year, and so it was that, on Wednesday 21 December 2011, exactly 12 months after Shaun had nervously watched the hulk being craned out of the brambles, he backed it out of his workshop for a test run.

‘All went well,’ he says. ‘The V8 ran beautifully with loads of power. The Carrier even turned easily without the usual fight. Only a slight adjustment was needed on the gear selection. We covered just over two miles on the first road test so, the beast lives once again!’

In the meantime, Shaun sends a big thankyou to all those that helped him bring the Carrier back to life in such a short time.
